Have you noticed how many scientists, including many from our local university UBC, are talking about how important our gut health is? Wondering why? In this class we will go through a review of all the scientific reasons for why tending to your gut allows for better health. We will talk about how the gut should work and how it can influence many conditions including leaky gut, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Small Intestinal Bacteria Overgrowth (SIBO), Constipation, Diarrhea, autoimmune conditions and food intolerances. We will explain the pathophysiology of these most common gut issues, the roles that gut microbes have in restoring these issues, and how to optimize their diversity for better health. Lastly, we plan to talk about decreasing gut inflammation through diet and nutritional supplementation, show you the power of fermented foods and drinks, and provide you with a start-up guide to healthier intestinal health.
